The Pieces

Posted on February 8, 2018 by wordhabit

This morning was both “Ahhhh, there’s so much to do” and “Ok, God, what first?”

I took a moment to analyze the work I needed to complete and the time I had left in which to complete it. Suddenly everything became simpler, possible. It wasn’t enough that I knew the tasks–I had to know what they required.

The freak out session in my head ceased. I jumped excitedly into task #1.

I wish I’d known all this 20 years ago, midway through college, trying so hard to do things well but not understanding the pieces. Almost 19-year-old me could have done a lot more smiling.
