A Psalm for One Unsure of Praise

Posted on January 28, 2026January 28, 2026 by wordhabit

How can I forget the Lord’s mercy?
How can I live as if his forgiveness is fleeting?

The sunset reminds me to put the day to rest.
The sunrise reminds me to make room for what will come.

I am here in spite of what could be;
I have yet to become dust.

Until then, I will use what the Creator has placed within me to praise him,
to remind myself of his goodness.
I will write.
I will sing.
I will be present.
I will live in my own skin.
…the difference this makes is often a necessary surprise.

I see the Lord more clearly.
Contentment is no longer a far way off.
